Not to add to the negative noise surrounding the Super Bowl, but I’m going to add to the negative noise surrounding the Super Bowl.
Here are a few of my initial reactions:
Bruno Mars spent more time on the field than Peyton and likely finished with more fantasy points.
There was a serious lack of original and funny commercials.
Denver had the highest scoring offense in the history of the NFL’s regular season…and they were held to a single touchdown.
Seattle’s lackluster offense has been largely ground-and-pound all year with Lynch; Lynch was held in check but Seattle had a season-high game.
This brings me to my next point: Denver’s game plan was to stack the box and force Wilson to throw… as if he was their weak point. Did they forget that he’s had one of the highest passer ratings in the league for two years in a row?
Denver has one of the best O-Lines in the NFL. What happened?
That safety at the start of the game broke a record for the quickest score in a Super Bowl game.
Don’t just look at Peyton, people. Absolutely NOTHING went right for Denver that game. Houston probably could have put up a better fight.
Oh, and Eli didn’t turn out to be the most disappointed Manning this year…
